65 Postcards | Eleanor Anstruther | Nonfiction, Memoir (NA) (C) (F)
65 POSTCARDS is a memoir told in one-minute reads which I wrote and published in real time on Substack earlier this year. It developed as I went along but I kept to the form and the result is 65 postcards telling the story of a girl on the run from the black box of secrets in her head. It’s shocking and funny and daring and it got me thinking about my life in different ways and got these stories out of my head and onto the page. It was well-received! It marked the beginning of my substack voyage (which I'm loving). I hope you enjoy it and will list it in the library. I’d be honoured for my work to take its place there.

Historical
A Perfect Explanation | Eleanor Anstruther | Historical, Autofiction (N)
Exploring themes of ownership and abandonment, A PERFECT EXPLANATION is a fictionalised account of the true story of Enid Campbell (1892 - 1964), granddaughter of the 8th Duke of Argyll. Interweaving one significant day in 1964 with a decade during the interwar period, this novel gets to the heart of what it is to be bound by gender, heritage and tradition, to fight, to lose, to fight again. In a world of privilege, truth remains the same; there are no heroes and villains, only people misunderstood. Here, in the pages of the extraordinary book where the unspoken is conveyed with vivid simplicity, lies story that will leave you reeling. Also at: Amazon UK, Amazon US

Fates collide at the Grand Festival, the first event to bring all the different lands of Hybridis together. The strongest and most ambitious have their eyes set on the tournament held at it. Aodh sees it as a chance to master his draconic powers so he doesn’t hurt anyone else, Quiahuitl seeks to demonstrate the strength of her new empire, Metrophanes is looking to escape the stain of his past villainy, and they’re not the only ones with their own reason to win. Battles Beneath the Stars blends mediums, being written like a script and guide for a video game. Each fighter has their own version of the story. Who will you choose as protagonist?
