The Legend of Leanna Page: Vol. I – A Beginning | Cedar Flyte | Utopian (N) (I) (F)
The legendary Leanna Page is known throughout all Elenvia for her trials and adventures, which led to their better world. Now, that legend is being introduced to our world by Cedar Flyte, themself the descendant of an Elenvian, in a fast-paced mythopoetic queer literary fantasy. As Flyte writes in their Dedicatory Epistle, “Perhaps [The Elenvian’s] stories can be a lesson in their world’s attainability, but if you rather not consider it so then consider it only as thus: It is a tale, magical and romantic and filled with adventure at every turn.” In a world divided in two, Leanna – born directly into the center of that division – must find a way to bring all the different parts of her dangerous world together... or risk her life, love, and freedom trying. This, the first volume in a series of three, is the beginning of her story.

And My Blood Sang | Maia Brown-Jackson | Poetry, Collection (P)
My poetry is about the perseverance of the self and the strength we can summon; the inevitability of becoming broken and beaten; the reminder that we are connected and we are exquisite; that our scars show where we did not die: and that when we are underestimated, bloodied, and battered, we will rise again. It is the journey from the trauma of abuse and sexual assault to healing, not shying away from the anger or grief or ugliness that arise on that path. And it culminates in my time volunteering in Iraq, where I worked with and for the Yazidis, and their refusal to be broken despite surviving a genocide reminded me of the good in humanity.
The Void Beyond the Walls | Relvin Gonzalez | Thriller & Mystery (N)
He had killed dozens. Then NASA hired him. Faced with the threat of solar flares, the government assembles a team to terraform Mars and hires Dean Turner, a leading construction worker from Texas, as the mission's fourth member. And he is about to leave behind the product of his urges—dismantled bodies hidden inside walls—and find in the stars the only cage that will contain him. Special Agent James Cole longs to make a name for himself. But he is sent to a remote location in Texas to sift through cold case files. James connects unsolved cases across the US and discovers that his prime suspect is two hundred million miles away from Earth. Dean Turner and Agent James Cole, now separated by the cold vacuum of space, seek what has eluded them.
